What is Livestatus?

Our backend, Livestatus, is an op5 modified fork of MK Livestatus by Mathias Kettner, a Nagios module to enable direct queries into the Naemon or Nagios core. This enables us to handle a large amount of data very quickly and efficiently, without having to store the data that other systems (the Ninja GUI, for one) need in a separate database.

Where can I find more info?

A changelog and the code is in the op5 Git repository for Livestatus. Unfortunately, the op5 changes to the codebase are not well documented yet, but the README contains some information.

Mathias Kettner's original project can be found here, together with documentation of how to use Livestatus.
